Chinatown- January 6

This is a continuation of the last posting. After walking through the historical area of Los Angeles, we went to  Chinatown. We were not too sure of where this area exactly was, but we figured that we were in the right locality when we noticed that the street signs where written not only in English, but also in Chinese. We enjoyed touring this area very much. It was tempting to part with my money when I saw the beautiful china tea sets in the shops. The jade jewelry was also very alluring.  My resolve almost broke when a little Asian lady stopped me outside of her shop and said: "Come in, you look?".  We are practicing a life of austerity in our new life style, which at these times is hard to do. The picture below gives you an idea of some of the sights in Chinatown.

The only money we spent in Chinatown was for a cup of tea and some cookies at one of the bakeries in the area. We just couldn't pass up those almond cookies!
